BIRD SAFETY WINDOW FILM

S&T Window Films is certified to install Solyx® brand Bird Safety window film. Bird Film is specially designed for birds, to help minimize the injury and lethal results caused by clear windows. Birds cannot see glass— they do not recognize the danger. With Bird Film, birds will be able to see the window as a solid surface, preventing collisions and keeping birds safe.

Below is an informative video put together by Muhlenberg College, showcasing the research of Daniel Klem Jr., Ph.D. on the topic of bird safety using window film.

Annually, over one billion birds die just from glass collisions alone. It happens way too often. We’ve become desensitized to it. Around big store fronts especially, it is common to see a few dead birds lying on the side walk. But this doesn’t stop at stores and commercial businesses— homes, apartments, and trailers are all at risk of bird collision— and we have the power to stop it.

Here are a few examples of Solyx film for bird safety:

A small bird, possibly a chickadee, perched on a curved black metal hook with a blurred natural background.

It can be manufactured as clear (for humans), or can be disguised as a subtle decorative film— either way, people won’t even know it’s there.
